The company also has vehicle manufacturing joint-ventures in India known as Toyota Kirloskar.

Objectives

Toyota Kirloskar worked with Hands On CSR to attain below objectives.


  • Restoring a lost Kalyani
  • This project aimed to help the people of Dodda Ganga wadi, Ramanagara district
  • In an effort to restore lost Kalyani, the company also managed to perform in many other social causes such as de-weeding, excavation, transporting silt, and plantation.
  • Combining everything, the company’s objective was to offer comprehensive assistance services.

Hands On CSR’s solutions

Hands On CSR supported the company by devising practical solutions. The details of the project are mentioned here:

1. Kalyani Restoration with Toyota volunteering was done on January 25, 2020. The location of the project was Dodda Ganga wadi, Ramanagara district. Intending to restore a lost Kalyani, the company volunteers worked passionately. The details of the project are mentioned here:

  • More than 200 volunteers from Toyota Kirloskar limited jointly worked on the project.
  • All 200 employees of the company aimed to restore the lost glory of Kalyani.
  • All the activities were done jointly to achieve a common goal. Different volunteers were given different jobs.
  • The first job was the de-weeding and cleaning of the area, including the community pond. In this task, around 30 volunteers participated and successfully did their job.
  • In task two, the company volunteers did the excavation of the silt from yesteryears. All the work was done manually without needing any big and hefty machines. Around 40 volunteers worked as a team to fulfill this task.
  • In the third task, it was decided that the volunteers would make a human chain so that the transport of the silt could be effectively done around the community pond. In this heavy task, 30 volunteers took up the responsibility of completing the job.
  • Lastly, there was a task in which the company associates were expected to prepare a nearby site for plantation from the silt. In this task, some 25 volunteers participated.

Results Achieved

The project aimed to restore the beauty of Kalyani. The results achieved matched the goals of the company. It was great to see eye-opening results. The accomplishments are summarized below:

  • The entire projected area was cleaned and restored.
  • The land, which had become dilapidated for many years, was restored.
  • This project fulfilled the company’s CSR goals and played a crucial role in employee self-satisfaction. The volunteers had a great feeling to contribute their bit to the environment.
  • Along with upscaling the beauty of the area, the environment on the site became more breathable and healthy.
  • This project motivated the volunteers to take up another project where they could do more to help the environment and the region’s people.
  • The company associates realized the importance of working together as a team and increased bonding between them.
